(Supernatural Reserves and Heavenly Deposits)

By Joshua Mills and Bonita Bush

The Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fi re out of the midst of a bush; and

he looked, and behold, the bush burned with fire, yet was not consumed. And Moses

said, I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush is not burned. And

when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the midst of

the bush and said, Moses, Moses! And he said, Here am I.

— Exodus 3:2-4, AMPC

Accessing the Open Windows of Heaven

When I think of a window, I think of an opening that allows an inside enclosed room to

be connected to a larger wide-open space. In the spiritual realm, God allows us to connect with the windows of heaven that help to enlarge our vision and our understanding of Him. There is much greater purpose and abundance in the heavenly realm, so when we make the connection through the open window, the things of the heavenly realm can fl ow very easily into our natural world realm. We see an “open window” or what we might even call a “power portal” when God speaks to Moses through the burning bush. This bush became an open connection from the desert wilderness into the glory realm. In that moment, God spoke directly to Moses. In her book, His Passion to Provide, my friend Bonita Bush shares about this encounter: “Though there is no record of a burning bush happening again, it was the beginning of the greater miracle of God continuously speaking to Moses face-to-face, presence-to-presence, God’s presence to Moses’ presence, voice to voice.”

And when Moses went into the Tent of Meeting to speak with the LORD, he heard the voice speaking to him from above the mercy seat that was upon the ark of the Testimony from between the two cherubim; and He spoke to [Moses]. Numbers 7:89

Bonita explains: “God initiated, Moses expectantly responded; then God did it again and

again.” There are a few things that I noticed while meditating upon these scriptures.

1. God desires to open up His windows of connection in wilderness places. We must

stop complaining and, instead, become more yielding. This will allow the Spirit to move

among us.

2. If we properly respond to the open window invitation, we will find ourselves being

invited into greater encounters again and again. God is looking for those who will respond to what He is doing and how He is moving. Very often, it doesn’t take much, just

simply a listening ear, an open heart, and a willing posture.

Supernatural Reserves

Throughout the Scriptures we can find various “windows of heaven” that are accessible for the people of God. One morning, Bonita Bush had an experience in which the Holy Spirit spoke to her heart concerning “The Reserves of Heaven” and how they are available to us now. The scripture that God spoke to her from was Luke 12:33 (NASB1995):

Sell your possessions and give to charity; make yourselves money belts

which do not wear out, an unfailing treasure in heaven, where no thief

comes near nor moth destroys.

The word “treasure” used in this scripture comes from the Greek word “thésaurus” (Strong’s #G2344), meaning “a storehouse for precious things, literally a receptacle for valuables or a reserve.”2 There are storerooms or reserves of treasure in the heavenly realm. These are unfailing reserves, reliable and without limit—unlimited! When Jesus walked the earth, He performed many miracles of unlimited supply (i.e. turning water into wine, multiplying fish and loaves, restoring sight to blind eyes, etc.). He knew how to access the windows of heaven, reaching into the unlimited reserves of glory!

3. You can tap into these unlimited reserves as you walk in the biblical pattern laid out for every believer. You no longer need to be dependent upon the natural. Instead, learn how to lean into the divine supernatural.

Heavenly Deposits

Not only does God have supernatural reserves available in heaven, but He also desires

to pour out heavenly deposits on earth as we access the open window. The first time the

Scriptures speak about God opening up the windows of heaven is found in Genesis 7:11

when God flooded the earth, so that it would be purified and redeemed for His purposes. The Bible says, “the floodgates of the heavens were opened.” Remember, Noah and his family were protected in the ark. On this side of the cross, we find our salvation and protection in the finished work of Christ. But God still desires to open the heavens over us to pour out an overflowing blessing. Look at Malachi 3:10:

Bring all the tithes (the whole tenth of your income) into the storehouse,

that there may be food in My house, and prove Me now by it, says the Lord

of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour you out

a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

This scripture verse speaks about following the heavenly pattern of giving and receiving.

As we open up to God, He, in turn, pours back out toward us. We cannot outgive Him

in any capacity whatsoever. Actually, this verse says that the heavenly deposit will overflow to such a degree that there will be hardly room to receive it! That’s a lot of blessing! Bonita Bush writes about this in her book, His Passion to Provide (which, by the way, I very highly recommend that you read)! Bonita says, “When we see creative miracles such as a limb, an arm, or a leg grow, the windows of heaven open at the very point of attachment. God deposits the answer to our needs at our point of need.” She even says, “Supernatural anointing oil is a heavenly deposit.”

4. We’ve learned to financially sow into specific situations, in order to see the heavenly

deposit open up and grow in that specific place. This is a powerful revelation to learn

and participate with. I encourage you to sow into the glory realm. It is glory soil that’s

fertile and ready for fruitfulness to abound.
